Funerals

I think the most fitting and profound ceremony for the Great Highland Bagpipe or Uilleann pipes is the send off for a loved one. No instrument quite captures the raw emotion of the bagpipe.

For funerals, here are the most commonly requested tasks for me as a piper;

  • Playing as the coffin leaves home and as the funeral cortege sets off

  • Marching down the street as the hearse departs

  • Paging the hearse at it arrives at the ceremony

  • Playing as the coffin is carried to the ceremony

  • Playing a lament as the coffin is lowered or as ashes are scattered

I am more than happy to help accommodate any requests so please do just ask
